A Gentleman, said to be Michael Knott

The beautiful colouring and handling dates this work to the mid-1760s. The identity of the sitter has not been confirmed, but his youthful appearance, coupled with the probable date of the painting, suggest that it could be of Michael Knott’s father, George.
