    2230) "QUEEN MARY" PROPELLER ENDS ROAD JOURNEY On completing its journey from London, the giant propeller for the Cunard White star liner "Queen Mary", weighing 35 tons and the largest in the world, was lifted from the special lorry which carried it, and placed alongside the King George V. Graving Dock at Millbrook, Southampton, yesterday. Photo shows: The huge propeller being hoisted into the air on arrival at Southampton yesterday. 3/1/1936. H. (Topical Press) LIKE FLYING FISH - Angle from which this picture was taken at Southampton Docks caused the 35-ton spare propeller of the liner Queen Mary to resemble some giant flying fish. The propeller was taken from London by road, and will be shipped to Clydebank.
