The Bath

Boris Kustodiev painted many subjects that showed the "old Russia". The images show a spectacular view of female beauty, but at the same time a touch of irony to his models, an absolute realism in detail and a very free treatment of the composition. Here he portrayed women that are going to bath. There is a colorful succulence in this painting which motif feels dramatized with the young man who rides into the picture from left.
