- About Creator: Mestre Vitalino [Vitalino Pereira dos Santos, 1909-1963), son of a ceramist in Caruaru, carved small animals with the leftovers of his mother’s work and took them to the famous market on Saturdays, hardly imagining that his own fame would surpass that of the market. In Alto do Moura, Vitalino’s production inspired a school of ceramistswhich included his chindren and grqandchildren, as well as those of his apprentices.
