The Packlite series was first developed by Anna Stork and Andrea Sreshta, then graduate students, to help refugees in Haiti after an earthquake. Portable and foldable, it can be charged with sunlight or a USB, and waterproof which makes it useful in disaster situations as well as in outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. Through the Give Light, Get Light campaign, more than 40,000 PackLite series were donated to over 100 charities so far.
