Information received by the magistrate of the house and court, Santiago Díaz de Leguizamo, in which the captain of the Victoria Juan Sebastián Elcano, Francisco Albo, and Fernando de Bustamente declare the vicissitudes of the journey of the first voyage across the world.
The declarations were made in response to an interrogation consisting of 13 questions that are attached, concerning, among other issues: discord between Ferdinand Magellan and Juan de Cartagena and other captains of their armada, and the deaths and executions that took place; Ferdinand Magellan's delay along the Patagonian coast; the gold ransom in the Philippines; the missing cargo of cloves transported by the Victoria; and the circumstances of Magellan's death.
