You know better than anyone how sad I have been in this filthy hospital, since you must imagine it, and also I suppose the boys have told you. Everyone tells me not to despair; but they don’t know what it is for me to be in bed for three months, which is what I need to be, after having been a first-class stray cat all my life, but what’s there to do, since the pelona didn’t carry me away. Don’t you think?
Imagine how anxious I must have been not knowing how you were that day and the day after; after I had been operated on, Salas and Olmedo arrived; it was certainly good to see them!
