Directed by Rod Wissler and designed by Bill Haycock, the production featured Michael McCaffrey as the pedlar Lanthorne Leatherhead.
Haycock describes: “Bartholomew Fair was designed as a big collage using existing materials and strong contrasts to create its own world ... each character's costume was approached individually to focus their particular look ... this costume was worn by a slightly shady "purveyor of wares" and was designed to be like a flasher opening his dull overcoat to reveal the colourful wonders within..."
