Wuzhen is said to have “one Taoist temple, two pagodas, nine temples and thirteen nunneries”. There were up to 53 religious buildings in the history. White Lotus Pagoda was destroyed at the end of Yuan Dynasty, rebuilt several times in Ming and Qing dynasties, and collapsed during the region of Emperor Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty, lasting for 760 years.
