Paint analysis of Block C - RSJs

At the base of this sample the original red lead primer can be seen. This initial protective finish was applied at the foundry when the ‘I’ beams were manufactured and over this there is a grey undercoat with a top coat of mid blue/green oilpaint. Both of these layers are lead paints and are the original finish applied to these elements.
