The color must be consistent when you place the fusuma pieces one next to the other.” There are 5 basic paint colors: red, blue, yellow, white, and black. These colors are mixed and used as base color and for woodblock printing.Whitewash dissolved in water is mixed with paint. The result relies on the temperature and humidity. Once the right color is obtained, the mixture is then filtered for a consistently smooth texture.
