The cabinet inherited some functions of the chest and surpassed it, due to the advantages that its wide internal shelves presented for the storage of documents, crockery, objects and, later, clothes. Used in the 17th century in churches and convents, in the 18th century it became common in homes. This specimen, in painted cedar, has a structure that favors straight lines and mixes characteristics of Neoclassical and Baroque from Minas Gerais. The piece is part of the MCB Collection.
