This polychrome cup is painted in browns, dark reds, tans and ochres. The figure depicted is a four-legged creature, with a tail, which could be a feline or an otherworldly creature. The cup comes from Peru, from the Nazca culture, and is possibly Early Intermediate (200 BCE - 600 CE). The Nazca was a coastal culture, located south of Lima, in the province of Ica.
