Painting - I

Arpita Singh’s painting, is deeply rooted in the concerns of modern society, of war, destructing and the dangers that loom in an increasingly nuclear world. She has devised her own symbol to produce haunting images of our time, motor-cars, fighter jet planes and technology that is increasingly intrusive and threatening. The symbols are carefully juxtaposed with the use of radiant pinks, blues, and yellows covertly signifying the simple, organic forms from nature.

‘Painting-I’ is an elaborate composition, ducks haphazardly placed on a pink and red table cloth completely unaware of the danger looming in the form of menacing fighter planes and the presence of a male figure.
