Entitled "Little Shower a Rain", scene portrays people reacting to an approaching thunderstorm. A dark cloud looms overhead with two sets of ground lighting clearly visible as well as torrential rain. An older couple stand under the cover of a porch roof as a woman hurries towards the door carrying laundry. Other figures are running out in the open, seeking shelter. Painting on canvas with wood frame surround. Late 20th Century. Chick Wooten (1930-2011) was a local self-taught eastern North Carolina artist born in Le Grange whose work focused on rural scenes from his youth.
