Hedwig was married to Henry the Bearded - the prince of Wrocław - and was the mother to Henry II the Pious. She was known for founding the construction of churches and monasteries. After her coronation on 26 March 1267 performed by the pope Clement IV, she started to be worshiped as a patroness of Poland and whole Silesia.
