The plain white porcelain for export was decorated with enamel colours in Canton for special orders. Porcelain painted in Canton was known as Guangcai or Canton enamelled ware. Painted using overglaze enamel colours in the Western style and mainly for export purposes, most of it was tableware. National flags or emblems were common motifs.
