These earrings are part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts Department.

Trained at Cooper Union, Art Smith opened his first shop on Cornelia Street in Greenwich Village in 1946. The earrings were gifted to Cooper Hewitt by Margot Gayle, a historic preservationist and long-time resident of the neighborhood.
