Pair of Torchères

Standing on either side of a table or in the corners of a room, these stands, known as torchères,would have supported candelabra. The stands are elaborately carved and gilded, with scrolling acanthus leaves on their tripod feet, while feathers, tassels, and curling ribbons ornament the body.
