Paiute cradleboards, particularly among the Northern bands, were crafted from willow frames and twined basketry with simple curved hoods. Designs varied by gender—zigzags for girls, diagonal lines for boys. These cradles were both protective and expressive, with later examples incorporating modern materials while maintaining traditional form and spiritual meaning.
