Pakkhi, along with other furniture and objects like sandook and charkha, form an integral part of daaj gifted to a bride. She would make the pakkhi herself with the help of the women in the family using colourful threads and fabric to make it ornamental. Pakkhi are gifted in odd numbers of five, seven or eleven.
