4th - 5th century AD

Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East
Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

One half (one opening of an unguentarium) is folded rim, horizontal, the other one seems to be sheared off and grounded; u-shaped body divided into two tubular compartments; flattened base. Two coil handles are visible, one (which is attached to the compartment with the cracked-off rim) is applied to the upper part of the body and attached to the rim; on top of that handle is the basket handle attached; that basket handle runs out and forms the handle on the other side of the vessel. No residue; very well-preserved vessel, some light patina on outside and some patina/dirt on inside.
