Palenque is one of the top destinations of Chiapas and one of the best examples of Maya architecture in all of Mexico. The Palace of Palenque was probably the ceremonial and administrative centre of the city in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

This glyph cartouche is located on the top of pier C of House A of the Palace in Palenque, Mexico. It forms part of a larger text written on the piers (and probably the lintels) of House A. It is composed of two different logograms, NAH (house), and K’IN (sun). The object is a 19th century cast from the original, part of the Maudslay Collection at the British Museum.
