Pan

In Pan, Traquair has depicted the Greek god of the wild and hunting wearing a leopard skin and playing his double pipes. A baby faun sits on his shoulder, holding a wine flask, whilst a deer bucks behind them. The rural setting is finely detailed, including the primroses on which Pan walks, in a large and ambitious work.
