Gambatte…Be Strong
Staged reading created and directed by Chisao Hata and NIkki Nojima Louis.

From Japantown to the Portland Livestock Exposition, from WW II concentration camps to the Vanport flood, the immigrant journey of the Japanese in Oregon is paved with stories of perseverance and courage.

This play was performed at the 2nd Vanport Mosaic Festival to share the little known stories of the return of Japanese Americans to Oregon after their incarceration during WW II.
