Panel with crowned and bejeweled Buddha

Lacquered and gilded panels with large-scale figures are rare. No other example with a large Buddha image is known. On the back of the panel is a heavy metal ring, by which, presumably, the panel was hung on a wall. Beyond this, nothing is known of where and how it would have been displayed.
