In this gouache, the first of the series with this title, the artist fragments the space with mainly straight lines, which only curve at their junction with other lines. Although in previous years he had followed the same procedure, the rigour; or what we could call the clean breaking of the surface in works like those of the Panoplia series is much greater and more strictly geometrical, as if a shift had been made from a purely conceptual plane to the decisive contribution of the exclusive use of black and white.
