Baldassarre Longoni (1876-1956) approached Divisionism at a very young age, starting an intense and evocative production of works that brought him a certain notoriety. His painting fits right into Lombard Divisionism, which is more reflective and participatory than the French Pointillism from which it derives. The fullness of light, light-color, especially in landscape painting, where he breaks the conventional pictorial style of rhetoric, while not denying the realistic form. His stay in Verona is at the end of the first two decades of the 20th century when he was appointed professor of painting at the Cignaroli Academy. The work "Panorama of Verona" belongs to this period, confirming the landscape as the subject in which the artist best expresses his painting. From the 1930s on, having completed his Divisionism experience, he returned to the naturalism of the Lombard tradition.
