Panorama of Vid (Ancient Narona)

The remains of a large ancient city that was known as Colonia Iulia Narona were found in the town of Vid near Metković (Republic of Croatia). The city was located on the southeastern slope of the hill above the fertile valley along the Neretva River. At the junction of the upper and lower town, directly next to the river was the Roman forum, next to which the remains of a Roman temple were excavated in the 90s at the end of the last century, and are presented today “in situ” inside e were excavated in the 90s today presented in situ inside the museum building of the Narona Archaeological Museum.
