Pansy Bouquet

The Tule Lake camp in Northern California is surrounded by freshwater wetlands rich with shells of freshwater mollusks. Many internees at Tule Lake took jewelry-making classes. They used hand-painted and glazed shells, metal wire, and cotton string to make floral and other decorative designs.
