The "Dolly Dingle of Dingle Dell" paper dolls created by Grace Drayton for "Pictorial Review Magazine" ran from 1913 until 1933. In addition to Dolly's travels around the world, the character and her friends of Dingle Dell celebrated traditional holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter and popular activities of the seasons like skating in winter and baseball in summer. The popularity of the Dolly Dingle led to the manufacture of Dolly Dingle dolls by the Averill Company in 1923.
