Paradise

The most simple visual image of heaven is a beautiful garden, where humans can enjoy everything that doesn’t exist on earth. Almost all religion give a similar definition and image of heaven; an unimaginable beauty that no human can create. Iswanto displays a collaborative project with a landscaping expert, creating a replica garden in the showroom, to make visitors uncomfortable with the presence of the garden, as if something is not quite right. Iswanto’s challenge is whether the heaven visualized here can answer people’s curiosity on the promises they believe in. Visitors may enter the installation and imagine themselves in heaven, and can even create their own heaven.
