The wall on which this parinda was built separated the entrance porch and the courtyard of the house. Water was filled in pots and pitchers and stored in this parinda mainly for visitors and passers-by. A small arched opening was made in the wall to maintain a visual connection and to pass objects like tumblers to the visitors without having to step out of the house.
