Possagno, Italy

Copy of the marble found at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
In 1838, G.B. Sartori offered a marble Paris to the Museum of Asolo. The hero’s face is executed with grace and beauty, his hair a tumble of locks. The youngster – the most beautiful of mortals – is not hardened by the use of weapons (where he did not show much vigour), he is relaxed. The turned head full of complacency and vagueness for himself shows a character interested more in pleasure than in war.
