Piotr Stachiewicz (1858-1938) was a student at the Krakow School of Fine Arts in the years 1877-1883. His teachers included Jan Matejko, Władysław Łuszczkiewicz, and Florian Cynk. He lived in Kraków, where he created religious, historical, genre paintings, and portraits. He was a member of the Society of Friends of the Fine Arts. He lectured at the Higher Courses for Women, known as “Baraniecki’s courses”, where young women developed their talents in the arts and crafts.
