A lithograph titled, Parking (2001) produced by the South Africa artist, Jabulani Sam Nhlengethwa (b.1955) from his Josi Series (Josi is an acronym for Johannesburg). The series of lithographs were printed in an edition of 30 and is about everyday life in the City of Johannesburg, South Africa. Nhlengethwa was born in 1955 in Springs in the township of Payneville. In 1977 and 1978, he completed his studies at the Rorke’s Drift Art School. Nhlengethwa’s most prominent works are about the subject of Jazz. His family were Jazz enthusiasts and his elder brother was a Jazz Musician.
