The sculpture of Parvati, consort of Lord Shiva, is sculpted in the lost wax technique, employed in the production of votive bronze statues even today. The voluptuous figure, ornamentation, graceful posture, and high lotus pedestal are symbolic of prosperity and fertility. The central fitting of her waistband is known as 'Kirtimukha' or the face of victory and bounty. The stylistic features of this bronze exhibit the continuation of Chola traditions of depicting this avatar of Parvati, where she is represented in a simple yet beautiful manner.
