Photograph of what Alfred Soden English describes as his (14th) battalion.The men in the shell holes have been idetified as those of the 16th Canadian Machine Gun Company at Passchendaele in 1917. Private Reginald Le Brun of the 16th, left a written account of the battle in his personnel record, which was particularly bloody.
