This atmospheric John Gay photograph shows passengers waiting patiently for their train on a platform at Liverpool Street Station. The railway terminus was built between 1872 and 1875 by Edward Wilson, engineer to the Eastern Counties Railway Company. The station underwent a major transformation in the 1980s.
