The Patkai hills form the natural border between eastern Arunachal Pradesh and Myanmar. The Tangsa and Singpho people, native communities of north-east India, reside mostly in the Dihing Patkai region, in Changlang district. The Tangsas believe that they migrated from Mongolia, Yunnan and Mynamar, and the Singphos believe that they migrated from Myanmar, Thailand, and Yunnan province, many centuries back. The gorgeous Noa Dehing river flows between the Dapha Bum range and Patkai range intersecting the pristine forests of the Changlang district.
