The technological and cultural impact of the Minimoog simply cannot be overstated. Released in 1970, it was effectively the first truly portable and integrated analog synthesizer, and it revolutionized popular music by moving the synth from high-profile studios into the public sphere. The Minimoog was used rampantly throughout the 1970s and 1980s, especially in the genres of progressive rock, disco and jazz. This particular double-unit model was custom-built for former Yes and The Moody Blues keyboardist Patrick Moraz.
