Most kids of every generation admit to a fascination with fire-fighting equipment, a fascination that has led many toy manufacturers to replica fire wagons, pumpers, hook and ladder trucks, and other vehicles for children's play. Kids watched in awe at the power and speed of the fire trucks racing to put out a fire in their towns. Toy trucks, however, did not necessarily satisfy kids' wonder. Many voiced a desire to become a fire fighter when they grew up.
