Lim Hosub has always made a consistent effort throughout his work to create space. While he once strived for an abstraction beyond images with ‘The Invisible,’ he now considers the image as a moment of relaxation in which the artist himself is concealed. In this context, Lim Hosub’s PAUSE series can be understood as an attempt to express the moment of taking a sufficient rest while looking at an image. Throughout the series, Lim seeks to focus on his own attitude looking at an object rather than on depicting something exterior to himself.
