Standing independently of the waterfront palace, a pavillion is visible on the right (north) side of the Cannon Gate. Set on pillars, the wooden structure appears to have a hipped roof and a single storey. The façades of the pavillion are lined with windows that are equipped with vertical shutters. This structure is also visible in the engravings of Pîrî Reis (mid-17th century) and Scorella (1685), which suggests that it was built prior to (or possibly concurrently with) Topkapısı Waterfront Palace. Depicted by Hilair (1822) after Melling, neither the name, nor the function of his pavillion has been identified.
