Shrine of Remembrance

Shrine of Remembrance
Melbourne, Australia

British born sculptor Paul Montford was responsible for overseeing the design of all sculptural elements during the construction of the Shrine. The largest of these are the four buttress sculptures that stand at each of the four corners. Taking his inspiration from classical sculpture and mythology, Montford's allegorical groupings represent Justice, Sacrifice, Patriotism, and Peace and Goodwill.
