Peachtree Street, Atlanta featuring the Georgian Terrace, Ponce Apartments, and Fox Theatre

The Fox Theatre Historic District includes three major buildings: the Georgian Terrace (1911), Ponce Apartments (1913), and Fox Theatre (1929). All three buildings remain standing today despite development pressures. Most notably, the Fox Theatre is the theatre whose dramatic rescue from demolition changed Atlanta’s attitudes toward preservation. A 'Save the Fox' campaign organized by the community, non-profits, and residents prevented the demolition of this historic landmark.

In the image, the Atlanta based punk rock band 'Mother's Finest' is performing tonight at the Fox Theatre. Mothers Finest performed at the Fox Theatre twice: on Jan 18, 1981 and again on December 31, 1983, thus dating the image to one of these two dates.
