Pen with which King Otto (1815-1867) signed the first Constitution of Greece in 1844. The Constitution was drafted and elaborated by the National Assembly that emerged from the Revolution of 3 September 1843 and, after its approval, was presented to King Otto On 18 March the first Constitution of the Greek state was passed, and the king, in a formal ceremony, pledged his allegiance to it.
