Pendant

The “asyk” pendant is a heart-shaped, silver piece decorated with a geometric pattern and a carnelian insert.
The base of the pendant is heart-shaped and plaque-like. It is smoothly polished and features a rectangular protrusion and a cylinder on top. The carnelian inlay is in the center of the decorative space. The heart-shaped base of the pendant is decorated with an overlay of strips of granulation, braid, and a wavy filigree ornament along the contour. The contours of the rectangular protrusion are decorated with braid. The cylinder is edged with three wavy filigree stripes. The pendant’s inner and outer surfaces are smoothly polished.
The “asyk” is a traditional amulet worn by women of Turkmen Teke tribe.
