Penning trap used by the BASE experiment at CERN

A cut-away schematic of the Penning trap system used by the BASE experiment. The trap stores antiprotons and negative hydrogen ions, allowing a very precise comparison of the charge-to-mass ratio between protons and antiprotons. Both agree to at least 70 parts per trillion.
