INDUCTED 2014

Penny Hamilton has been a general aviation pilot for 23 years, marking her as one of a select group of women in her field. Hamilton co-holds with her husband a World Aviation Speed Record.

Penny the Pilot” has thrilled pre-schoolers with tales of women pilots in history like Amelia Earhart for more than 25 years. As the director of the Teaching Women To Fly Research Project, Hamilton encourages young women to choose an aviation career. Penny lives on high ground in Granby, Colorado, where she writes, speaks, takes photographs, and boosts the town and state she loves. As a long-time business leader and volunteer in Granby, Hamilton earned the Greater Granby Area Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award. And she still makes time to fly!

“My philosophy is to be thankful for each day and to make a positive difference.” — Dr. Penny Hamilton
